Becky Lynch finally defeated her protege Lyra Valkyria at WWE Money in the Bank to take the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

In the build-up to the match, the pair agreed to a stipulation whereby, if Valkyria won, Lynch could not challenge her for the title again.

Conversely, if Lynch won, Valkyria would have to raise her hand.

Notable spots included a big kickout by Valkyria from a Manhandle Slam off the second rope.

A near double count-out ended at nine after the pair hit their finishers on each other on the floor at ringside.

The finish came when Lynch rolled up Valykria with a handful of her tights for leverage.

Per the stipulation, Valkyria raised Becky’s arm, but Lynch wanted to rub salt in the wound by having her opponent repeatedly raise her hand and put the belt around her waist.

This was too much for Valkyria, who delivered a German suplex to Lynch before leaving.

The two Irishwomen captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 41, only to lose them the next day on Raw, which prompted Lynch to attack her former partner.

The feud escalated when Valkyria retained her title against Lynch at the Backlash PLE in May.

Their rivalry had since involved further assaults and interference in each other’s matches.

Valkyria went into the match undefeated against Lynch, having also defeated her in 2023 to win the NXT Women’s Championship.
