Corey Graves says calling Worlds Collide reminded him ‘a rough patch isn’t the end of the road’

Corey Graves has been in good spirits after calling the WWE & AAA Lucha Libre Worlds Collide card last weekend.

The long-time WWE commentator served as the play-by-play host for the special webcast last Saturday, working alongside AAA’s Konnan to call action in Los Angeles.

It seems that receiving the opportunity to be part of the event has helped reinvigorate Graves, who just recently had voiced displeasure about certain turns his career took as a voice in the WWE.

“Sometimes, you run low on passion. But then, something like this weekend happens … Thanks to you guys, for reminding me that a rough patch isn’t the end of the road,” Graves posted on X this week. “[Heart] pro wrestling.”

Early this year, Graves put together a frustrated post after getting moved from the main roster commentary teams to the weekly NXT broadcasts. The Tuesday night spot has remained his top priority in recent months, along with one-off appearances elsewhere and his role as the commentator for WWE Speed.

Graves received love in the comments, including a positive reply from co-commentator from Saturday, Konnan: “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner… I’m very passionate about Lucha and u did our culture proud plus I made a new friend…Thank You.”
