*Lash Legend over Wren Sinclair
*NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne © over Lainey Reid
*The High Ryze over Tony D’Angelo & Luca Crusifino
*NXT Championship: Oba Femi © over Jasper Troy (Recommended)

The show began with a dreaded “parking lot attack,” and the victim was Oba Femi at the hands of Jasper Troy. Troy jumped the NXT champion and chokeslammed him onto the windshield of a car.

Ethan Page vs. Sean Legacy for the NXT North American Championship

Corey Graves provided the backstory of Legacy’s brother passing away and being bullied growing up for liking professional wrestling.

Page caught Legacy with a codebreaker as he re-entered the ring from the floor. Legacy rallied with a springboard dropkick and promoted a chant of “Legacy”. Page dropped Legacy back first onto the top turnbuckle and attempted an Ego’s Edge on the desk, but Legacy blocked and landed a tope con giro on the champion.

Legacy missed on a springboard 450 splash, allowing Page to hit the Twisted Grin and retain the title.

Legacy looked very good in the match, and Page is great in this role as the heel champion, who can lead a match effectively.

WINNER: Ethan Page to retain the NXT North American Championship

Ricky Starks stormed the ring and attacked Page.

Ava was with Fatal Influence backstage, and Jacy Jayne wants to build a rapport with the general manager. Lainey Reid entered the room and slapped Jayne twice, as Jayne requested a match with “that little bitch” tonight.

Sol Ruca and Zaria were on TikTok, and wouldn’t you know it, an argument ensued in the background between Lash Legend, Kelani Jordan, and Wren Sinclair. Karmen Petrovic was standing in the middle of it all. “DRAMA”, observed Ruca & Zaria.

A meeting of The Culling with Shawn Spears investigating why Izzi Dame attacked Brooks Jensen with a chair last week. Dame said that there was “no room for half-ass commitment,” and they didn’t believe in the group, so why should they? Brooks is “weak and feeble,” and Spears thought this was brilliant. Niko Vance thanked Dame for eliminating Jensen. Izzi Dame is now directing the group.

Psycho Clown and Octagon Jr. were shown in the crowd as Graves promoted TripleMania Regia this Sunday in Monterrey.

Shawn Spears & Niko Vance vs. Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura

Briggs was busted open from the nose and climbed the turnbuckle as Inamura ran into Spears on the floor. Briggs was knocked off balance by Vance and proceeded to hit Briggs with a Dominator to win. Graves reflected, “It wasn’t pretty”.

WINNERS: Shawn Spears & Niko Vance

Ava admonished Ricky Saints for “ruining my show,” and Saints is still injured from the Twisted Grin on the chair, and he cannot talk. So, he had to respond to this lecture by coughing with a piece of tape over his trachea. Page has now rendered Starks and Je’Von Evans speechless from his attacks. There are several people on this roster who could lose their ability to speak, and Saints isn’t one of them.

Chase U reacted to their destruction at the hands of DarkState last week. Andre Chase says if they are going to do this, they will do it his way and follow his rules. Chase says, “It’s time to go back to class”. Graves said the school should lose accreditation, and you could tell he wanted to compare them to Harvard.

A vignette for the former Mariah May aired as she got out of a bathtub, and a voiceover touted her credentials and introduced her as BLAKE MONROE.

Lash Legend vs. Wren Sinclair

Kelani Jordan joined the commentary team. Last time she was on commentary, Booker T. told her that “there are no friends in this business,” and she took that to heart.

This one was a rough match ending when Sinclair came off the top with a high cross, Legend attempted to catch her but didn’t have all of her and then “appeared” to be going for a spinning side slam and God only knows what pages each of these two were on, but they were not the same one. Sinclair ended up behind Legend and just dumped onto the mat for the pin.

Refer to Corey Graves’ statement after the previous match.

WINNER: Lash Legend

The NXT profile was on Lainey Reid, and we learned she is a rodeo champion and a track champion. She is going to shock the world tonight because Jacy Jayne “is the most beatable champion in WWE HISTORY” and Reid is going to “Leave her Southern hospitality at the side”. We got a fight.

Jasper Troy was interviewed about why he would attack Oba Femi before his title match, but he knew what he was doing and is counting on Femi still showing up.

Jacy Jayne vs. Lainey Reid for the NXT Women’s Championship

Please stop what you’re doing and go listen to Lainey Reid’s theme song. I swear this was made on someone’s keyboard forty-five minutes ago. This was like a MIDI version of a banjo and the most generic music I’ve heard.

Jayne catapulted Reid’s throat under the bottom rope, and she clutched it like she was Ricky Saints.

Reid, or should I say, “The Southern Sensation”, was on offense and sent Jayne into another state with a knee strike for a two-count.

Fallon Henley distracted Reid, and Jayne yanked off the turnbuckle and hit the Rolling Encore as the most unbeatable champion retained.

WINNER: Jacy Jayne to retain the NXT Women’s Championship

Fatal Influence celebrated, and Ava appeared to announce that next week there will be four singles matches, the winners will meet in a fatal four-way on June 24, and that winner will challenge Jayne at Evolution on July 13 in Atlanta.

Like a horror film, all the women appeared inside the arena to surround Jayne, including Jaida Parker, Thea Hail, Lash Legend, Zaria, Izzi Dame, Jordynne Grace, and Kelani Jordan.

Josh Briggs is with Yoshiki Inamura and is pissed about their loss. AJ Francis and KC Navarro enter. Inamura called them annoying, so Francis said he was back to take over this locker room. Elijah entered and blamed them for the TNA title not coming back to TNA.

Luca Crusifino is on the phone, and Tony D’Angelo walks in and suspects Crusifino is planning a “hit” on him. He insists that Crusifino lead the way to the ring, and he’ll prove that D’Angelo can trust him.

The NQCC meets, and Charlie Dempsey wishes Myles Borne well after beating him last week. Je’Von Evans enters right as Tavion Heights wants his shot against Dempsey, he blows the challenge off and leaves.

Mr. Iguana and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. are shown in the crowd, and another mention of TripleMania Regia.

Tony D’Angelo & Luca Crusifino vs. The High Ryze

D’Angelo doesn’t accept the tag from Crusifino in the early moments.

Crusifino starts to gain his trust as they perform a double team maneuver with D’Angelo sending Crusifino over the top with a hip toss onto Dupont & Igwe.

D’Angelo receives a hot tag after the break when Stacks appears and D’Angelo attacks him, “Get that rat”, yells Vic Joseph.

D’Angelo turns around and catches Crusifino with Stacks’ crowbar and goes ballistic. The High Ryze hit their finisher as Igwe lifts D’Angelo, and Dupont jumps and slams him to the mat.

WINNERS: Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe

Sarah Schreiber interviews Trick Williams about needing help from AJ Francis & KC Navarro to beat Mike Santana last week. Williams says Santana made a promise to his daughter and was “a liar,” and Elijah needs guitar lessons.

– Eliminator Match: Zaria vs. Izzi Dame
– Eliminator Match: Thea Hail vs. Jaida Parker
– Eliminator Match: Lola Vice vs. Jordynne Grace
– Trick Williams, AJ Francis & KC Navarro vs. Elijah, Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura

Oba Femi vs. Jasper Troy for the NXT Championship

Femi’s ribs are taped, and Troy jumps him as the bell rings.

Troy showed a lot of aggression, attacking the ribs, and Irish whipped Femi into the corner and broke the middle turnbuckle as they went to break. It’s all Troy throughout the break as the official fixed the turnbuckle.

The audience came alive as Femi got to his feet and fought back and hit the spine buster for a two-count.

Femi lifted and threw Troy, but ran into a Black Hole Slam from Troy as both are down.

Femi sent both over the top with a clothesline, and Troy was sent into the barricade, which broke. Back in the ring, Fall from Grace by Femi, and the official held up his hand at two, but there is no way Troy moved his shoulder a millimeter, and it was a major blemish.

Femi hit another Fall from Grace and won.

WINNER: Oba Femi to retain the NXT Championship

FINAL THOUGHTS

Outside of the non-kickout by Jasper Troy, you had to come away with a sense that Troy put forth a strong accounting of himself in a main event situation. He has fewer than forty matches on his resume, and showed enough in this match that he could be a very serviceable big man and could improve his stock over the next year.

The only other match worth seeking out is the North American title match, as Ethan Page and Sean Legacy had a very nice match, and the audience is behind Legacy, which added to the atmosphere.

The news items included Jacy Jayne defending the NXT Women’s Championship on July 13 at Evolutio,n with a tournament taking place over the next two weeks, and Mariah May is now Blake Monroe.

This wasn’t a stellar edition of NXT as the rest of the wrestling was either standard fare or below par in the case of Lash Legend and Wren Sinclair, as they did not gel in their match-up.

It was also worth noting that both Ricky Saints and Jordynne Grace not only appeared but involved in either a program or a tournament, so they have a direction in NXT for now, despite many assuming they will be main roster bound.
